Explanation:

The width of the given rectangle = x units

So, the length of the rectangle = 3 times (width) = 3 (x) = 3 x

Now , PERIMETER OF A RECTANGLE = 2 (LENGTH + WIDTH)

Substituting the values of length and width,

Here, P = 2 ( x + 3 x) = 2 ( 4 x) = 8 x

or, Perimeter = ( 8 x) units

Hence, the perimeter of the rectangle in terms of x is (8 x).
