Answer: The length of the rectangle is 39 ft

The width of the rectangle is 16 ft

Explanation:

Let L represent the length of the rectangle.

Let W represent the width of the rectangle.

The length of a rectangle is 7 ft longer than twice the width. It means that

L = 2W + 7 - - - - - - - - -1

The perimeter of a rectangle is expressed as 2length + 2width

Perimeter = 2(L + W)

If the perimeter is 110 ft, it means that

2(L + W) = 110

L + W = 110/2 = 55 - - - - - - - - -2

Substituting equation 1 into equation 2, it becomes

2W + 7 + W = 55

3W = 55 - 7 = 48

W = 48/3 = 16

L = 55 - W = 55 - 16

L = 39
