Answer: The gas volume is 24.5L

Step-by-step explanation:

Using ideal gas equation which is the general equation for ideal gases.

PV = nRT

Where

P= pressure = 1.0atm

V= volume =?

n= mole =mass/molar mass

Mass given = 44g

Molar mass of CO2 = ( 1*12 + 2*16)

= 44g/mol

n=44/44 = 1mol.

R= ideal gas constant= 0.08206atmL/molK

T= temperature = 25 +273= 298K

Which implies

1 × V = 1 × 0.08206 × 298

V=24.45L

Therefore the volume occupied by the gas is 24.45L
