For a party of 8 or more, some restaurants add an 18% tip on the bill. What is the total amount charged for a party of 10 if the cost of the meal, without tip, is $205? So far I have 205 x 1.18 which gives me the answer but I don’t know how to get the 1.18 can someone explain please?

Answer:

The total amount charged with tip is $241.90 or $242(approximately).

Explanation:

Given:

Some restaurants add an 18% tip on the bill, a party of 10 has cost of the meal, without tip, is $205.

Now, to find the total amount charged with tip.

According to question:

Bill + Tip

$205 + 18% of $205

205+(18)/(100)* 205

=205+0.18* 205

=205+36.90

=241.90

So, the bill is $241.90.

Therefore, the total amount charged with tip is $241.90 or $242(approximately).
