At a particular restaurant, each onion ring has 40 calories and each pizza roll has 50 calories. A combination meal with onion rings and pizza rolls has a total of 23 onion rings and pizza rolls altogether and contains 1010 calories. Write a system of equations that could be used to determine the number of onion rings in the combination meal and the number of pizza rolls in the combination meal. Dividing 10 on both side using division property we get;

Multiplying equation 1 with 5 using multiplication Property we get;


5x+5y= 115 \ \ \ \ \ \ equation \ 3

Subtracting equation 2 from equation 3 we get;


(40x)/(10)+(50y)/(10)=(1010)/(10)\\\\[tex](5x+5y)-(4x+5y)= 115-101\\5x+5y-4x-5y=14\\x = 14

Hence x =14 we will substitute this value in equation 1 we get;


x+y=23\\14+y =23\\y =23 -14\\y= 9
