Help please!
If (x,-7) is a solution to the equation 8x=-3y-5, what is x?

photomath is what I would do but change the - to addition then make the 5 negative then idk but if its -7x then you would do

(-7+8x)+3y-5 I may be wrong though

Answer:

x=2

Explanation:

Put -7 into y position then you have -3(-7)-5=16

Divide 16 by 8 to find your x since it will be 8 multiplied by x

16/8=2

2 is the answer
