Glucose is an important biomolecule. Which of these statements is true regarding the movement of glucose into and out of cells?

A) V and VI
B) IV and VI
C) II and IV
D) III and IV

I. Moves molecules from high to low concentration
II. Moves molecules with the concentration gradient
III. Does not require energy
IV. Requires the use of a membrane protein
V. Used to move small and/or nonpolar molecules
VI. Used to move large and/or polar molecules

II and IV are the true statements.

Step-by-step explanation:

As the glucose molecules are too large it is not allowed by the cell membrane to pass through general diffusion. It requires "facilitated diffusion" to "move in and out" of the cell. In this passive mode of transport, the protein of carrier is used to pass the molecules through the membrane without using the energy of the cell rather the concentrate gradient provides energy to make the molecules move. This gradient allows the molecule to pass from high concentration area of the cell to the low concentration.
