Answer: See explanation

Explanation:

Slope = -2 - 7 / 8 - (-1) = -9/9 = -1

Slope = -1

Point slope form: y - y₁ = m (x - x₁)

y₁ = 7

x₁ = -1

y - 7 = -1 ( x - [-1])

y - 7 = -1 ( x + 1)

y - 7 = -1x - 1

Add 7 to both sides

y = -1x - 1 + 7

y = -1x + 6 or y = -x + 6

Standard Form: Ax + By = C

I didn't explain this part very well last time. You can use the point-slope form AND the slope-intercept form to find this.

Point slope form- y = -x + 6

Standard form:

y = -x + 6

Add x to both sides

x + y = 6 or -x - y = -6

Slope intercept form: y = mx + b

m = -1

y-intercept = 6

y = -1x + 6 or y = -x + 6

Hope this helped!
