Six friends create a website. The website earns money by selling banner ads. The site has 5 banner ads. It costs $120 a month to operate the website. A banner add earns 0,005 per click. Write a linear equation that represents the monthly income

Number of banner ads = 5

Cost to operate website = $120

Let number of clicks be x

Now 1 banner ad earns = $0.005x

5 banner ads will earn = money earned by 5 banner ads

By using Unitary method we get;

money earned by 5 banner ads = 5 × $0.005x = $0.025x

Now we need to find monthly income.

Monthly income can be calculate by Subtracting Cost to operate website by money earned by 5 banner ads.

Monthly Income = money earned by 5 banner ads - Cost to operate website = $0.025x - $120

Hence monthly income can be calculated by using equation 0.025x -120.
