If g(x) is the inverse of f(x) and f(x) = 4x+12 what is g(x)?

g(x) = 12x+4
g(x) = x-12
g(x) x - 3

Answer:

The inverse of f(x) = g(x) =
(x - 12)/(4) .

Explanation:

Given as :

The function f (x) = 4 x + 12

And g(x) is the inverse of function f(x)

Now ,

f (x) = 4 x + 12

Or, y = 4 x + 12

interchange the variables x and y

I.e x = 4 y + 12

Now solve for y

Or, x - 12 = 4 y

or, 4 y = x - 12

∴ y =
(x - 12)/(4)

So, g(x)=
(x - 12)/(4)

Hence The inverse of f(x) = g(x) =
(x - 12)/(4) . Answer
