2^-2

= 1 /2*2

= 1 /2^2

= 1 /4 or 0.25

what if x=-5?

-5^-2

=−1*5−2

=−1* 1 /5*5

= −1 /5*5

= −1 /5^2

= −1 /25 or-0.04
