(5)/(8) of total sugar was drink by humming bird

Solution:

Given that,

When the Mario kept the humming feeder on Friday it had
(3)/(4) cup of sugar water

When he sees on Monday, it had only
(1)/(8) of sugar water

So, this means the water is consumed by the humming bird will be the difference of the two values:-

\text { Sugar water consumed }=(3)/(4)-(1)/(8)

On solving we get,

=(3)/(4)-(1)/(8)=(24-4)/(32)=(20)/(32)

=(5)/(8)

Hence, the amount of sugar water consumed is
(5)/(8) of total sugar at the starting
