Answer:

Given,

The total distance =
2(1)/(4) km,

Time =
(3)/(4) hours,

Since,

Speed =(Distance)/(Time)

Thus, the speed of the group of hikers =
(2(1)/(4))/((3)/(4))

=((9)/(4))/((3)/(4))

= 3 km per hour,

Now, Distance = speed × time

Let y be the distance( in km ) covered in x hours

y = 3x

If x =
(3)/(4)

y=3* (3)/(4)=(9)/(4)

If x = 2

y=3* 2=6

If x =3

y=3* 3 = 9

If x = 4

y=3* 4=12

Hence, the required points in the coordinate plane are, ( shown in the below diagram )

(3/4, 9/4), (2, 6), (3, 9) and (4, 12)
