Answer:

There is one solution (0, 2)

Explanation:

Let us solve the question

∵ y = x + 2 ⇒ (1)

∵ 2y = x + 4 ⇒ (2)

→ Substitute y in equation (2) by equation (1)

2(x + 2) = x + 4

∵ 2(x) + 2(2) = x + 4

∴ 2x + 4 = x + 4

→ Subtract x from both sides

∵ 2x - x + 4 = x - x + 4

∴ x + 4 = 4

→ Subtract 4 from both sides

∵ x + 4 - 4 = 4 - 4

x = 0

→ Substitute the value of x in equation (1) to find y

∵ y = 0 + 2

y = 2

There is one solution (0, 2)
