The U.K. continued to supply natives with manufactured goods and guns in exchange of furs with the hope that they would stop or hinder westward expansion into the Ohio territory from american settlers, but no legal protection was granted, and over time, american settlers came to dominate and eventually displace Native Americans from their territory.
