Answer:

The quantity of paints did Brain uses to paint each bookshelves is 1.1 gallons .

Explanation:

Given as :

The quantity of red paint = 4
(3)/(10) =
(43)/(10) gallons

The quantity of blue paint = 3
(2)/(5) =
(17)/(5) gallons

So, The total quantity of paints = The quantity of red paint + The quantity of blue paint

or, The total quantity of paints =
(43)/(10) +
(17)/(5)

Or, The total quantity of paints =
(43+34)/(10)

Or, The total quantity of paints =
(77)/(10) = 7.7 gallons

Now, The total number of bookshelves to be paint = 7

And The total quantity of paints = 7.7 gallons

∵ To paint the 7 bookshelves , the quantity of paints = 7.7 gallons

∴ To paint the 1 bookshelves , the quantity of paints =
(7.7)/(7) gallons

I.e To paint the 7 bookshelves , the quantity of paints = 1.1 gallons

Hence The quantity of paints did Brain uses to paint each bookshelves is 1.1 gallons . Answer
