The challenged that many women in North Carolina was that they had to do farming.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Civil war in North Carolina affected most of the people especially women. Most of them were nonslaveholding class of farmers. So their wives had to undergo a lot of difficulties like hunger, danger and lack of clothing. These Confederate soldiers were given a very less pay, so the women and children had to adapt themselves to survive with what they got.

Women and children had to do hard field labour on crops. They used to write letters to their husband, father and brothers asking them to return home soon. Many others wrote letter to Governor Zebulon Vance seeking help. They all had serious health issues. Men who had twenty or more slaves did not go to the war with the army. Only people who did not have any slaves had to go.
