If with an annual membership fee of $500, Mr Bailey can join a country club that would allow him to play a round of golf for $35.then, the cost of x games will be

y = 500 + 35x

without the membership the country club charges $55 for each round of golf. The cost of x games will be

z = 55x

For the costs to be the same, y = z. Therefore,

500 + 35x = 55x

55x - 35x = 500

20x = 500

x = 500/20 = 25

The costs would be the same when 35 games have been played
