If we ignore wind resistance the time in seconds it takes for an object to fall S feet by t=1/4[s. Thus an object will fall 100 feet in t=1/4[100=1/4-10=2.5 seconds.

How long would it take an object dropped off a building to fall 1089 feet?

Given as :

The distance cover by object to fall = 100 feet

The Time taken by the object to fall = 2.5 seconds

Let the speed of the object = s feet/ sec

Now, Speed =
(\textrm Distance)/(\textrm Time)

or, Speed =
(\textrm 100)/(\textrm 2.5)

∴ Speed = 40 feet per sec

Now, again

Distance cover by object = 1089 feet

∵ Speed of object = 40 feet per sec

Let The Time taken at 40 feet per sec = t sec

So, Time =
(\textrm Distance)/(\textrm Speed)

Or , Time =
(\textrm 1089)/(\textrm 40)

or, t = 27.22 seconds

Hence The time taken by object to dropped the distance of 1089 feet . Answer
