Marketing can play a part in society’s/cultures beliefs/ ideas on being a vegetarian by either being all for meat eating or telling you to become a vegetarian. For example, Burger king just came out with the new impossible whopper. This can make people want to try it and if they like it, they may want to explore other vegetarian substitutes. However, it’s still a burger king meaning it’s simultaneously advertising to consumer to eat meat. Cultures can be biased based on age old recipes, religious beliefs, stigma, etc. Some cultures very much so encourage meat eating and others don’t pay too much attention to it. It all depends on how people perceive the advertisement for it. Hope this helped

Marketing plays a role in American society/cultures beliefs and ideas toward being vegetarian because you see food ads everywhere talking about eating meat. For example, there's McDonalds and Arby's, so it just automatically makes it feel normal to eat meat. So when people want to become vegetarians they get teased a lot because most people think it's stupid to not eat meat.
