Hans measured the circumference and diameter of a pizza object in centimeters. He divides the two numbers and finds the answer is pi. Luke measures the circumference and diameter of the same pizza in millimeters instead of centimeters. If he divides the circumference by the diameter, will his answer also equal pi? Explain.

Answer:

Yes, it will

Explanation:

Mathematically, the term pi is the ratio of the measure of the circumference of a circle to the diameter of the circle

What has simply happened is that the unit of measurement changed. A change in unit does not change the measure of the actual value

Hence, the ratio of the circumference to the diameter still stands and thus, any of the same unit change applied to both will always return the pi answer when we divide in same units
