Hey there!

₂ ₁

The formula m = y₂ – y₁ / x₂ – x₁

GUIDE for you to go by!

Y₂ = 3

Y₁ = 2

X₂ = –4

X₁ = 1

Equation:

3 – 2 / –4 – 1

• SOLVING for your NUMERATOR (TOP number) (y-intercept) : 3 – 2 = 1

• SOLVING for your DENOMINATOR (BOTTOM number)(x–intercept) : –4 – 1 = –5 (we get the –5 because we STARTED at –4 on the NUMBER LINE and we went UP ONE space)

Answer: ⬇️

1/–5 (or you could SIMPLY say –0.20 because they BOTH EQUAL the SAME thing!)

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
