Can someone please help me?

Theresa plans to use a photocopy machine to
increase the size of a small picture that she plans
on using as part of the display on her bulletin
board. The original picture has a width of 3.5
inches and length of 5 inches. After enlarging her
picture, she has a similar picture with a width of
8.75 inches. Determine the length of the enlarged
picture

To determine the length of the enlarged picture, we need to compare the width of the original to the enlarged

This will enable us know the scale factor in use

that would be;

8.75/3.5 = 2.5

so the scale is 1 to 2.5

To get the length of the enlarged picture, we simply multiply the original length by 2.5

That would be 5 * 2.5 = 12.5 inches
