Rachel made a shirt using

yards of green fabric and

yards of yellow fabric. How many more yards of green fabric did Rachel use?

So you’re going to need to have a common denominator to subtract. I made it stay at 8 so i multiplied 8x1 to get 8 and 2x4 to get 8 on the other side. Because I did that on the bottom i have to multiply the 1 by 4 as well making it a 4. Your new equation is
5/8-4/8= 1/8 yards.
