thus , to find the equation of the line ,

we use the formula :


(y-y_(1) )/(x-x_(1) )  = (y_(2) - y_(3)  )/(x_(2) -x_(3) )

where,


x and
y are the variables.


x_(1) =-1  ;  y_(1) = 6; \\x_(2)=0; y_(2) = 4;\\ x_(3)=1 ; y_(3) = 2 ;

substituting the values in the equation, we get ,


(y-6)/(x-(-1))  = (4-2)/(0-1) \\(y-6)/(x+1) = (2)/(-1) \\y-6=-2*(x+1)\\y-6= -2x-2\\y+2x=4

∴ The equation of the line is
y+2x=4
