Answer:

a. The odd number immediately following x = ( x+ 2)

b. The odd number immediately preceding x = ( x- 2)

Explanation:

Odd Numbers : The number which DO NOT have 2 as their common factor are called odd numbers.

Hence, odd number IS NOT divisible by 2.

Some examples are : 1,3,5,7,9,..........

So, by the given examples, we can see that the difference between any TWO consecutive odd number is ALWAYS 2.

Here, given x : odd number

So, using the above argument :

a. The odd number immediately following x = ( x+ 2)

b. The odd number immediately preceding x = ( x- 2)
