-8*4=-32 -4+8= -32

-8-4= -12 -4-8 = -12

Let the two nos. Be x and y

xy = -32

x - y = -12

(x-y)^2 = (x+y)^2 - 4xy

144 = (x+y)^2 + 128

16 = (x+y)^2

Therefore x+y = +4, -4

When x+y = +4, x-y = -12

x = -4, y = 8

When x+y = -4, x-y = -12

x= -8, y = 4
