How many times do f(x)= 3x^2-2x+1 and g(x)=-x^2+10x-8 intersect? Explain

Answer:

one - x = 3/2

Explanation:

when f(x) = g(x) , functions will intersect

3x²-2x+1=-x²+10x-8

4x²-12x+9 = 0

this is a 2nd degree equation and it may have maximum 2 answers and we should calculate delta first

delta = (12)²-4*4*9 = 0

so when delta is equal to 0 we just have one real answer

answer is 12/(2*4) = 3/2
