her change is $5.24

if you do $1.19 times 4 which is $4.76
then $10 minus $4.76 is $5.24

10 - (1.19 x 4)

Answer:

$5.24

Explanation:

If Mom bought 4, she bought
$1.19*4=$4.76 worth of pie filling. Since she paid $10, she needs
$10-$4.76=$5.24 change
