Answer:

The fraction of winning money which is left is
(49 x )/(50)

Explanation:

Given as :

Let The money won in a lottery = $ x

The money use as down payment on a house =
(2)/(5) of x

So, the remaining money = $ x - $
(2)/(5) of x

I.e the remaining money =
(5 x - 2 x)/(5)

Or, the remaining money =
(3 x )/(5)

Now, again

The amount use to furnish the new home =
(3)/(10) of remaining

Or, The amount use to furnish the new home =
(3)/(10) ×
(3 x )/(5)

So, The amount use to furnish the new home =
(9 x )/(50)

Now, The left amount of the winning = x -
(9 x )/(50)

i.e The left amount of the winning =
(50 x - 9 x )/(50)

Or. The left amount of the winning =
(49 x )/(50)

Hence The fraction of winning money which is left is
(49 x )/(50) answer
