Answer:

number of member of basis plan is 200

and number of member of standard plan is 80

Explanation:

given data

Basic plan = $7.31 per month

Standard plan = $3.00 more per month i.e = $10.31 per month

new subscribers = 280

total paid = $2286.80

to find out

How many Basic plans and how many Standard plans were purchased

solution

we consider here number of member of basis plan is = x

so number of member of standard plan will be = 280 - x

so we can say total pay is here as

x × $7.31 + (280 -x ) × $10.31 = $2286.80

7.31 x + 2886.8 - 10.31 x = 2286.80

solve we get

x = 200

so number of member of basis plan is = 200

so number of member of standard plan will be = 280 - 200 = 80
