For this case we have that by definition, the distance between two points is given by:

d = \sqrt {(x_ {2} -x_ {1}) ^ 2+ (y_ {2} -y_ {1}) ^ 2}

We have to:

(x_ {1}, y_ {1}): (4, -1)\\(x_ {2}, y_ {2}): (7,5)

Substituting:

d = \sqrt {(7-4) ^ 2 + (5 - (- 1)) ^ 2}\\d = \sqrt {(7-4) ^ 2 + (5 + 1) ^ 2}\\d = \sqrt {(3) ^ 2 + (6) ^ 2}\\d = \sqrt {9 + 36}\\d = \sqrt {45}\\d = 6,708

We round:

d = 6.7

Answer:

d = 6.7
