5 out of 6 times 3 out of 7 equals ?
To Set Up The Equation:
You have to set up the problem with the Numerator to Numerator and Denominator to Denominator to each fraction.
*You have to set it up the same with whole numbers and improper fractions.*
How Does It Work?
It works by lining up the fractions n to n and d to d.
Next, you have to multiply the same. You multiply straight across to the 2nd fraction. Numerator Times Numerator equals n/? Denominator times Denominator equals n/d
The Answer:
So, 5 times 3 equals 15/? And 6 x 7 equals 42.
Your answer is 15/42.
To be more satisfying, more wiser, you have to reduce your answer.
To reduce, you must divide the top and bottom by a number that I suggest is Easy, like 3.
Maybe we should divide by 3 to the top and bottom.
15 divided by 3= 5
42 divided by 3= 14
Your reduced answer is 5/14.
What We Learned:
We learned how to set up problems with multiplying fractions, you always have to set it up the same with Improper and Whole Number fractions.
We also learned how to multiply fraction by fractions.
The next thing is we learned to multiply straight across to fraction to fraction.
The last thing is we learned how to reduce fractions by dividing the n/d by a Easy number like, 6, 9.
