It takes 1.5 m of fabric to make the collar of an airbag helmet. The manufacturer is making 250 special-order collars. One morning, a technician finds they have only 65% of the fabric they need to make the collars. How many more meters of fabric is needed to be able to make all 250 collars?

Answer:

x = 131,25 m

Explanation:

Manufacture the collar of an airbag helmet takes 1,5 m of fabric

Manufacturer is going to make 250 collars

Company only has 65 % of the needed fabric

Total quantity of fabric needed is:

250 * 1,5 = 375 m

If they have 65 % that means that they need 35 % of the total quantity

then, by rule of three

375 ⇒ 100

x ?? ⇒ 35

x = ( 375 * 35)/100

x = 131,25 m
