A^2 + B^2 = C^2 so you have 5^2+B^2=14^2 which comes up to 25+B^2=196. Then subtract 25 from both sides to get B^2 = 171 then your missing side is the square root of 171

Answer:

according to Pythagoras,

hypotenuse ²= base²+perpendicular ²

hypotenuse is the longest side, opposite to right angle

hence

14²=5²+x²

x²=196-25

x=√171

x=√(19×9)

x,=3√19
