well first you're going to want to put it in slope-intercept form, which is to get y by itself on one side so you have to divide the 4 on both sides to get rid of it since 4 is being multiplied by 4 (you have to do the opposite)

4y = 2x

/4 /4

y = 2/4x = 1/2x
