A) 95.8 % of £36 will be the new price

B) The answer to part A as a decimal is £34.488

C) The new price is £34.488

Solution:

Given that the price of a pedicure decreases by 4.2% from £36 on promotion

A) What percentage of £36 will the new price be ?

Given that £36 is decreased by 4.2 %

New price = 36 – 4.2% of 36

\begin{array}{l}{\text { New price }=36-(4.2)/(100) * 36} \\\\ {\text { New price }=36-1.512} \\\\ {\text { New price }=34.488}\end{array}

Now we have to find what percentage of £36 will the new price be

x % of 36 = 34.488

(x)/(100) * 36 = 34.488\\\\x = (34.488 * 100)/(36) = 95.8 \%

B) Write your answer to part a as a decimal.

Now, we have to find the new price in decimal form.

\begin{array}{l}{95.8 \% * 36 \rightarrow (95.8)/(100) * 36} \\\\ {\rightarrow 0.958 * 36=34.488}\end{array}

C) Work out the new price.

As we calculated, the new price is £34.488
