For correlation coefficient to be close to 0, the graph is mostly scattered without any linear relationship hence Figure 1

For correlation coefficient to be close to 1, the graph has a strong linear positive relationship hence Figure 4.

Strongest negative linear relationship can be seen in Figure 3 where the points follow a linear relationship
