Explanation:

(4x+5)/(x^2-3x+2)

factor out the trinomial x^2-3x+2 first,

find two numbers that when they multiply, you get the third term, which is 2 in this case. And when they add up, you get the second term, which is -3 in this case. x^2-3x+2=(x-1)(x-2)
