Hoover made them removed by sending federal troops.

Step-by-step explanation:

Due to great depression many war veterans of World War I had assembled in Washington Dc demanding compensation. The president remained unmoved but the congress gave a lending ear to their requests. Congress approved to give bonus to the war patriots and many newspapers christened them as “bonus army”.

The war veterans’ started a revolution which took the shape like that of a communist revolution. Many communist leaflets were also shared. As it was a hot summer and the veterans were not ready to leave Washington which made president Hoover to command the army personnel.

He ordered the militia to clear out the crowd and devastate the huts and other residential places in which the veterans lived. Hoover’s act was decisive and concluded to be merciless.
