Explanation:
If you have an equation for example:
4x + 6 = 3x - 4
You can see 4x and 3x are similar. So you want to basically
combine
them.
You subtract 3x from
both
sides to get 4x - 3x = 1x
4x - 3x = 1x or just x
You now have x + 6 = -4
Subtract 6 from
both
sides to get x = -10
