one number is 5 bigger than another number. when three times the lagger number is to twice the smaller number, the results is 60. what are the two numbers

x=small x+5=larger

2x + 3(x+5)=60

5x+15=60

5x=45

x=9

small=9

larger =9+5=14

2(9) + 3(14) =18+42=60

Given one number is 5 bigger than the other. ⇒ a = b+5.

and also given (3×a)+(2×b) = 60.

⇒(3×(b+5))+(2×b) = 60

⇒(5×b)+15 = 60

⇒5×b = 45

⇒b = 9

⇒a = b+5 = 9+5 = 14.

∴ Larger number is 14 and smaller number is 9
