Answer:

x=1+sqrt(14) & 1-sqrt(14).

Explanation:

(1x+1)(1x-3)=0

(x+1)(x-3)=0

m(x)=(x+1)(x-3)=10

(x+1)(x-3)=10

x^2+x-3x-3=10

x^2-2x-3=10

x^2-2x-3-10=0

x^2-2x-13=0

Apply the quadratic formula with a=1, b=-2 and c=-13.

The answer is x=1+sqrt(14) & 1-sqrt(14).
