First of all, you have to add the percentages to find what your dividing 85 by.

So, 18% + 8% = 26%. So we have to divide 26 by 85%. To be more advanced, what is 26% of 85? You should gotten 22.1

Your tip and tax cost is 22.1, your not done yet!

You have to add 22.1 to 85. 85 + 22.1= 107.1 One hundred seven and one-tenth.

Hope this helps :)

Answer:

The 18% tip and 8% tax is tabulated from the cost of the meal and are not compounded upon each other. Hence, the total additional percentage can be added up 18 + 8= 26%. 126% of 85 would be equivalent to 126/100 * 85= 107.1 which would be the total amount of money spent.
