Answer:

h = 1.41

c = 3.46

Explanation:

See the triangles diagram attached.

For the first triangle, Base = h, Hypotenuse = 2 and the angle between base and hypotenuse is 45°.

Therefore,
\cos 45 = \frac{\textrm {Base}}{\textrm {Hypotenuse}} = (h)/(2)

h = 2 \cos 45 = (2)/(√(2) ) = √(2) = 1.414 = 1.41 (Answer)

{Rounded to the nearest tenth}

Again in the second triangle, Perpendicular = c, Hypotenuse = 4 and the angle between base and hypotenuse is 60°.

Therefore,
\sin 60 = \frac{\textrm {Perpendicular}}{\textrm {Hypotenuse}} = (c)/(4)

c = 4 \sin 60 = (4 * √(3) )/(2) = 2√(3) = 3.46 (Answer)

{Rounded to the nearest tenth}
