Answer:

C. Desert shores is below sea level.

F. The difference in the elevation is more than 600 feet.

Explanation:

Let

x -----> the elevation of Chicago, Illinois in feet

y ----> the elevation of Desert shores, California in feet

we have

x=600\ ft----> is positive because is above sea level

y=-200\ ft----> is negative because is below sea level

Remember that the sea level represent the zero level

To find out the difference in elevation, subtract the elevation of Desert shores from the elevation of Chicago, Illinois.

600-(-200)=600+200=800\ ft

Verify each statement

case A) Desert shores is above sea level

The statement is false

Because is below sea level

case B) Desert shores is at sea level

The statement is false

Because is below sea level

case C) Desert shores is below sea level.

The statement is True

case D) The difference in the elevations is less than 600 feet.

The statement is false

Because the difference in the elevations is greater than 600 feet

case E) The difference in the elevation is 600 feet.

The statement is false

Because the difference in the elevations is 800 feet

case F) The difference in the elevation is more than 600 feet

The statement is True
