What is a factor? What is a multiple? Can you give an example of each!

Answer:

a factor is a number that when multiplied by another number produces a given number or expression.

a multiple is a number that can be divided by another number without a remainder

ex:multiples of 5 would be 15, 25,30, 20 etc.

Answer:

Factor: Numbers we can multiply together to get another number.

Multiple: The product of one number multiplied by another.

Examples:

Factor Example: 3 × 5 = 15 therefore, 3 and 5 are the factors of 15.

Mulitple Example: 4 x 1 = 4, 4 x 2 = 8, 4 x 3 = 12, 4 x 4 = 16, 4 x 5 = 20, 4 x 6 = 24

4, 8, 12, 16, 20, and 24 are multiples are 4.
