Answer:

S₁ = 450 × 4 + 200

S₂ = 40 × 40 + 200

Explanation:

In the first plan I will be paid $450 per week plus a $200 monthly bonus.

Therefore, the monthly salary is given by S₁ = 450 × 4 + 200 ...... (1)

{Since, the monthly business cycle is 4 weeks}

Now, in the second plan I will be paid an hourly wage of $10 with a monthly bonus of $200.

If I work x hours per week, then monthly salary will be given by

S₂ = 4x(10) + 200 = 40x + 200 and a condition is that x = 40.

Therefore, S₂ = 40 × 40 + 200 ....... (2)

So, equations (1) and (2) are the required linear equations. (Answer)
