Answer:

In order to obtain 30 gallons of mixture with 35% of antifreeze we will mix 25 gallons of brand-1 product and 5 gallons of brand-2 product.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let volume of antifreeze required of brand -1 be x

Let volume of antifreeze required of brand -2 be y.

Total volume of antifreeze mixture required = 30 gallons

x + y = 30 gal ...[1]

Percentage of antifreeze in brand-1 product = 30%

Percentage of antifreeze in brand-1 product = 60%

Desired percentage of antifreeze required in 30 gallons of solution = 35%

30% of x + 60% of y = 35% of 30 gallons

0.3x+0.6x=10.5 gallons...[2]

On solving [1] and [2] we get:

x = 25 gallons

y = 5 gallons

In order to obtain 30 gallons of mixture with 35% of antifreeze we will mix 25 gallons of brand-1 product and 5 gallons of brand-2 product.
