Recessive is a quality found in the relationship between two versions of a gene. individuals receive one version of a gene called an allele, from each parent. if the alleles are different, the dominant allele will be expressed while the effect of the other allele called recessive, is masked.

hope this helps out

Answer:

A recessive trait is a trait that is expressed when an organism has two recessive alleles, or forms of a gene. Dominant alleles mask the effects of recessive alleles, so a recessive trait is only expressed when an organism has two recessive alleles for a gene.

hope this helps :)
